Welcome to Station House Nursery!
Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. We aim to welcome you, inform you and inspire you by sharing our beautiful environments and our child-centred approach to teaching children in the moment.
Our nursery building was originally the Old Station Masters residence that opened in 1913 as part of the Dunnington/Kexby railway, changing use many times over the years before we opened as a nursery. Our main goal is to create an environment that is safe, warm and welcoming and gives you the peace of mind that when your children are in our care, they will be happy, settled and through the special relationship with their Key Person, have the confidence to explore, discover and grow.
We love to share our parent testimonies with you as true reflections of the nursery we are both passionate about and proud of. We are blessed to have such an inspiring and dedicated team that are recognised for their hard work by so many of our families, past and present.
When we welcome prospective parents to view our nursery, we always emphasise the importance of having that 'special feeling'. The warmth, comfort and trust that your child and family will be welcomed into a home-from-home safe haven that will meet all the emotional, physical and educational needs of your child.
We hope you get that feeling when you visit us here at Station House.
A little note from Helen....
"Well, what can I say? It's certainly been a journey and Station House Nursery is most definitely my 3rd baby!
I moved to York from Durham back in 2002 and managed a local day nursery. I used to drive past Station House on my route to work and my dream of opening my own nursery became a reality in April 2005, with lots of blood, sweat and tears along the way, but I wouldn't change a thing! The inspiration I had back when I opened was my son Ollie, born in 2006, quickly followed by daughter Annais in 2007, who both continue to inspire and encourage me every day.
What makes Station House the place it is...? It is our fabulous team of super heroes, because they truly do have magical powers and prove it each and every day. Our team are amazing, they simply love what they do, support me wholly, share the same ethos and work tirelessly to provide the very best. Many of us are parents ourselves and we support each other and our nursery families with whatever obstacles life may throw our way. It is this togetherness and sense of belonging that makes us the nursery we are, each with the united vision of doing our very best for the little ones trusted in our care."
